Your Pets & Livestock Need Protection Too
Beta Glucan has been extensively studied in animal use and is already widely utilized in commercial agricultural operations. Much of the available farmed salmon has been feed Beta Glucan to reduce bacterial infections that used to decimate fish stocks.
A similar story exists for farmed shrimp. Progressive livestock companies are feeding Beta Glucan to chickens, pigs and cows for the immune enhancing properties and protection from disease/infection. Beta Glucan has been tested on everything from earthworms to human beings – even plants. The effects are the same, immune stimulation.
It is a common question about using Beta Glucan on pets and the answer is “of course.” Animals with diminished immune function can certainly benefit from enhanced immunity and anti-tumor effects provided by Beta 1,3D Glucan.
As a thumbnail rule, just as with humans, the suggested dosage is 1 milligram for every 1 pound of body weight. For example, for a 10 lb cat, that would be 1/10th of a 100 mg capsule.
Beta Glucan can easily be mashed into the food of dogs.
Cats, being more finicky, are easier dosed by opening up a 100 mg capsule and putting about 1/10th of the power in a separate small dish. Add a bit of water and give with an eye dropper or syringe. On an empty stomach is ideal, but not necessary.
